Rev. Larry Rice along with advocates for the homeless will be launching a celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday with an informational 28 hour picket in front of the St. Louis County Government Building at 41 South Central in Clayton, MO.

This action, in the spirit of Dr. King’s resolve to bring about social justice for the oppressed will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 17 and will continue all night until Friday, January 18, 2013 at 3:00 p.m.

Those attending will be standing in solidarity with the St. Louis County homeless who are being left in the cold this winter because of unfulfilled promises made by the County Executive on August 31, 2012 to provide shelter and transitional housing.

At the beginning of this 28 hour activity a press conference will take place to explain in detail why St. Louis County must address its growing epidemic of homelessness and stop dumping it’s homeless in downtown St. Louis.
