Conflict of Interest Issues Raised by former City Counselor working for legal firm of Bick & Kistner, PC

St. Louis – Rev. Larry Rice will be holding a press conference on Tuesday, January 21 at 1:15 p.m. outside room 208 of the St. Louis City Hall.

The purpose of the press conference is to discuss NLEC’s motion to disqualify the law firm of Bick & Kistner, PC from any involvement in the hearings before the Board of Public Service, which convened on September 24 to consider the revocation of NLEC’s hotel permit.  Bick & Kistner, PC currently represents the Petitioners who are alleging that NLEC creates a nuisance in the neighborhood.  In a recently filed motion, NLEC’s attorneys, Todd Lubben and Lauren Harris, have argued that a conflict of interest was created when the St. Louis City Counselor, Patricia Hageman, accepted employment with the law firm of Bick & Kistner, PC sometime prior to December 3, 2013 and commenced her employment in January, 2014 (see accompanying motion to disqualify).

Motion to Disqualify

This motion will be argued before the Board of Public Service, which will proceed to meet at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday following the press conference.
