When You Can't Take It Anymore
How many times have you felt like crying out lately, “Dear God, I can’t take it anymore.”
When the bottom seems to be dropping out of life and we feel the pressure mounting, the God – talk disassociated from the tragic events at hand (the present reality) only makes the problem worse. It is not theories or talk that is needed, but an awakening to the fact that God is present in the most hopeless of circumstances and situations.

The Cost of FREEDOM
Freedom isn’t just about walking out of a cell. It’s not just about being able to come and go. Real freedom starts in your mind, your spirit, and your will to keep going—no matter what’s trying to hold you back.

The Silent and Deadly Relationship Killer
Loneliness can feel like a dark, dank, musty prison cell. Its cold, hard, unforgiving walls seem to inch closer together. The worst part is the utter silence felt deep in the heart. No one can understand. No one can break through the prison doors. No one can hear, or see, or know the deep pangs of utter separation. What hope does God truly offer His children who battle loneliness? What help does the Bible offer to struggling Christians?

Avoid Being Lost in Loneliness
It is so easy to get lost in loneliness. Loneliness can creep up on anyone at any time. Everyone has felt lonely at one time or another! When a loved one dies, or a person gets a divorce, or ends up homeless, they naturally encounter loneliness. Therapists call this situation loneliness because it is a temporary condition. Situation loneliness is different from chronic loneliness in that chronic loneliness thrusts the individual into a destructive cycle.

God's Peace in the Storms of Conflict
“Why are you always like this! You never listen to me. You never care about me. All you do is just think about yourself!” Resentment, anger, distrust, and pain fuel these statements. I believe it's safe to say that every single person has experienced conflict in their relationships. We have all made statements like this, or worse, to loved ones, family, friends, coworkers, and strangers. Conflict in our relationships is a fact of life. It is as sure as death and taxes. Christ

Devastating St. Louis Tornado
With over 5,000 homes damaged or destroyed, mostly in one of the poorest areas of St. Louis, the need can feel overwhelming. But we remember how Jesus fed the 5,000 with just a few loaves and fish. I believe He can multiply your gift today to bring healing and hope to our city.

Christ rising was the most memorable Sunday in history
If you value peace and prosperity of soul, you will not neglect to pray. It is prayer that keeps us up above the clouds and brings heaven down. It is not those who have plenty of time to pray that do the most praying, but they who take the time.
O God! Take our hearts and compress within them that pure love from thine own heart that will cause us to pray.

Staying Calm in a Chaotic World
Staying calm in a chaotic world can at times prove to be a real challenge. Perhaps you are like me. When I have troubles coming at me from every direction, I have a tendency to get frustrated, upset, and anxious.

I appreciate everything the New Life VCHC gives to the unhoused. The food, showers, free store, lockers, and free phone services. But I am most grateful for being able to use a clean bathroom. I know it sounds so simple. But the homeless get turned away from public restrooms or forced to purchase an item before stores and restaurants will allow us to use their facilities. I am appreciative of a clean toilet with hot water and soap. Thank you!

I am usually the one helping others, so it is kind of strange for me to be asking for help. I rented out rooms in my house and the tenants failed to pay me. Now I am on the verge of losing my home. But I need help in heating up my house. I don’t have money to repair my furnace, so I need propane assistance. I am very appreciative of the financial assistance I got today from. The New Life VCHC! God bless you all!

Jesus Saved My Life
My mom shot and killed herself in 1972 when I was 12 years old. Since then, six more people in my family have committed suicide. I tried to kill myself, but Jesus saved my life!
When I was 14 years old, I was raped by a child molester. I ran away from the reform school. The court sent me there for stealing a car to run away from a home that the court sent me to.

After the loss of my family, including my twin brother, I became homeless. I was sleeping under a bridge when Rev. Ray found me. I was dirty, hungry, alone, and afraid. It was through the NLEC training program in New Bloomfield that I finally found security. I discovered security through the program and Jesus Christ. I now work in Springfield, Missouri helping with the mail and other front desk duties.
