All I Want for Christmas

My son Daniel is in jail in Barnstable County, Massa­chusetts, for a crime he did not commit. Even the public defender has said he could not figure out why they picked my son up in the first place.

The woman making the complaint claims that 21 years ago, when she was a child, she was molested by Daniel. It took her 21 years to recall all this. She says that the proof that Daniel did this is because in the year 2000, he was accused and arrested in Crawford County, MO, but that case was dropped because they knew it had been made up. Some people believe that if you are accused, that means you’re guilty.

The motive for the false claim is #1 money and #2 to keep my daughter-in-law (Daniel’s wife, Michelle) trapped in Massachusetts. At least as long as they can keep Daniel in jail.

Before Daniel got arrested, he worked for Integrity In-Home Health Care. He was working in my home, taking care of me. I am 80 years old and have health problems. I can’t do much for myself, also my son and his wife have a nice apartment and furniture. All of this is gone because of false statements.

If my son and his wife could come back to Missouri by Christmas, it would be the best present I’ve ever gotten. He should be back now, really, this is all made up.

Daniel has been in jail for 6 months, and they keep pushing the date up—they don’t have a case. Child molestation does happen, but it is not right to accuse anyone who is not guilty just because you can get by with it.
